Hope Over Heroin is a non-profit, faith-based organization that is bringing together churches, businesses and addiction recovery resources for a two day outreach in Bucyrus on Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24 from 6 to 9 pm each day.

The outreach works to increase public awareness of the scope of the heroin and opiate epidemic and its impact on our families, communities, and state. Hope Over Heroin incorporates a faith based approach with a Christ centered message of hope through the gospel with the services currently offered to addicts and families affected by addiction.

It’s difficult to find someone whose life has not been touched by addiction. Far too many deaths have occurred causing deep grief to loved ones and friends. A memorial service and walk will be held to kick off the Hope Over Heroin event on Friday evening at 6 pm. A DVD with pictures of loved ones who have passed away due to overdoses is being compiled and will be shown throughout the evening. A memorial walk and balloon launch will take place honoring the healing process for the families. We want families to know that we believe their loved one added value to this world and will never be forgotten. If you have, or know of someone who has, lost a loved one we would welcome your participation in this event. Send a picture of your loved one along with a favorite saying or quote of remembrance to Victory in Truth Ministries at 485 St Rt 4 Bucyrus, Ohio 44820 or e-mail to deb.vitm@yahoo.com.

If you have any questions please call VITM at 419-563-9565 or Mary Jean Hensley at 419 569 6945. Photos need to be received by June 15. Please pass this word along.
