Project Plants Shade Trees on Fairgrounds Midway, Barns Area

From the Tree Project committee:

There is an effort underway to make the Crawford County Fairgrounds a more pleasant location by planting a variety of shade trees. It is our hope for this generation and future generations to enjoy their experience at the fairgrounds under a nice shade tree without the hot summer sun chasing them away from the many activities during the fair and other events. The actions we take today will have a great impact in years to come.

Our goal is to plant a MINIMUM of one hundred shade trees around the fairgrounds property focusing on the midway and barn areas. A variety of maple, oak, and poplar trees approximately 7′ to ‘ in height will be planted. The trees will be purchased locally, planted and cared for by volunteers at an average cost of $165 each. The project will be done in two phases: first tree plantings in late fall of 2019 with additional tree plantings and re-routing of electrical wires in 2020.

This is a great opportunity for you to make a difference in our community by means of helping in several different ways: donate any dollar amount towards the purchase of a tree, donate for one or more treas, and volunteer to help maintain trees by assisting with watering.

For the benefit of this generation and the next, please complete the required information below by making a charitable contribution. Funds received after October 15 will be used in 2020.
