The Crawford County History Alliance (CCHA) will hold a first-ever History Fair on Sunday, April 23, from 1-4 p.m. at Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center, 2401 State Route 598, Crestline.
Twelve of Crawford County’s history-oriented museums and organizations will be at the Nature Center to welcome the public to engage in the history they have to offer. Some will be giving out goodies and others will be selling some wares from their collections. Door prizes will be drawn every fifteen minutes for those attending. Among the prizes will be eight original signed and numbered Crawford County Bicentennial barn prints, compliments of the Galion-Crestline Chamber of Commerce.
Most importantly, the History Fair will be your chance to begin collecting stamps to complete a new History Passport, which can be done throughout the summer—at our county’s historical attractions!
In the fall your completed passport could earn you the grand prize of an original hand-made copper kettle from Bucyrus Copper Kettle Works, or one of many other prizes showcasing Crawford County businesses.
Beginning in late September first-come, first-served “get-acquainted” bus tours are scheduled to depart from Lowe-Volk Park and give everyone the chance to complete all of their passport stamps.
CCHA is a coalition of participating Crawford County historical organizations and museums that was formed in 2022 and meets quarterly. They aim to share ideas and experiences, assist each other with promotions, raise awareness of these places and better tell our county’s history to the public.
