Candlelight Christmas will be held on Thursday, December 6 from 5 to 8 pm in downtown Bucyrus, with carriage rides, the Kiwanis Santa House, holiday concessions, and shopping.

Ice Skating! Enjoy ice skating fun on a temporary rink in front of Millennium Park, courtesy of FCBank. Skates provided, or bring your own (no figure skates).

Hot Chocolate! The Altrusa Club of Bucyrus will be distributing hot chocolate and cookies to skaters and visitors in Millennium Park.

Santa Claus! Santa will be in the Kiwanis Santa House in Schines Art Park during Candlelight Christmas.

Christmas Storywalk! Walk through the pages of the Christmas book Santa’s Cookie Surprise and get a Make-and-Take ornament on the 2nd floor of the Bucyrus Public Library. Crawford Reads 20 will be distributing free books as well.

Holiday Ham Giveaway! The team from Hord Cares is “lending a helping ham” this holiday season, distributing dinner hams and treats for kids in a drive-through at Washington Square. One Christmas bag per car while supplies last.

Chili! Warm up with a cup of steaming chili, free from the Bucyrus Kiwanis booth (donations welcome).

Mark’s Homemade Ice Cream. The ice cream truck will be in the Family Video parking lot with quarts of ice cream and gift certificates available.

See Bucyrus Shine!

Businesses have strung white lights in their windows and doors and created amazing window displays. Shops will be open late and many will be offering refreshments, prizes, and more.

The sidewalks will be lined with holiday luminarias. Businesses may use their own containers for the luminarias, or pick up bags at the Chamber office. Sand to weight the lights is available in the alley near the rear of The Bucyrus Diner. You will need to provide your own candles.

If your neighboring business is not participating in Candlelight Christmas, please consider using extra luminarias to fill in the empty space. The street looks so beautiful when each block is fully lit.
