We’re Celebrating Hometown Heroes at First Friday Bucyrus!

Join us in downtown Bucyrus tomorrow from 5 to 8 pm

We are all ready to Celebrate Hometown Heroes tomorrow evening at our August First Friday Bucyrus event! Washington Square will be filled with utility and rescue vehicles for children to explore, and you’ll get a chance to meet some of our local first responders.

We’ve got lots of great activities for children this month, including a Police Car Bounce House hosted by FCBank. There are opportunities for kids to write notes to  to service members, and see what you look like in uniform with First Responder Photo Cutouts  Don’t forget to stop at the Crawford Reads 20 booth to get a free book! Supergirl and Wonder Woman will be greeting guests LIVE in Schines Art Park.

Local favorites Bound by Love and Al Frazier will be entertaining the crowds in Millennium Park and Schines Art Park, respectively, and balloon artist Trina Dicks will be making her amazing balloon sculptures on the street.

Sidewalk vendors will be set up up and down Sandusky Avenue, with wares ranging from jewelry and nail art to baked goods and crafts. Many of the local shops will be open with extended hours and special activities.

You’ll find lots of opportunity for good eating also, with Mark’s Homemade Ice Cream, Higbies Diner, and The State of the Sandwich in the Food Court by Schines Art Park, and Sweet Thangs Kettle Corn at Family Video.  American Legion Post 181 will be grilling bratwurst and hot dogs on the sidewalk at 123 E Rensselaer Street.

Join us on Friday evening from 5 to 8 pm in downtown Bucyrus – rain or shine!
