United In Harmony, the popular men’s chorus from Bucyrus and Crawford County, is performing a benefit concert 4 p.m. Sunday, September 16 at the Bucyrus United Methodist Church Worship Center, 227 S. Walnut, Bucyrus, Ohio.

Admission is free. A good-will offering will be taken to benefit the church’s building campaign to provide classrooms for children and youth, the fastest growing segment of the church membership.

“United in Harmony (UIH) gives back to many local groups, such as nursing homes and churches, and community activities,” said UIH Accompanist Marcia Burkhart. “This time we are giving back to Bucyrus United Methodist Church, where we practice nearly every week of the year. Proceeds will support an extremely worthwhile cause that focuses on the children in the church and the community.”

The family-friendly concert includes “a little bit sacred, a little bit Patriotic, a little bit songs of yesteryear, a little bit country and a little bit rock-n’-roll,” according to Burkhart whose husband, Ron, sings in the group.  The Worship Center is air conditioned and handicap accessible. A staffed nursery is provided.

The Bucyrus United Methodist Church offers a relaxed, judgment-free worship environment. The Sunday services, at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., offer traditional and contemporary worship experiences. The congregation is led by pastors Mike Corwin, Becky Smithey and Brad Smith. A staffed nursery is provided at all services. Portions of the service may be signed.

Bucyrus UMC offices and outreach services are located at 216 Hopley Ave. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Food and clothing distribution hours are 10 a.m. to noon Fridays. The Outreach Center is air conditioned and handicap accessible.
