The Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the return of the popular “Know Who You Owe,” cemetery walks. The first walk will be held Monday, Memorial Day, May 31 from noon until 3pm at Oakwood Cemetery. A second walk, just for the Bicentennial year, will take place on Sunday, July 4th. The chamber plans to have at least one walk annually from here on out. If you are interested in representing a family member or person of interest that is buried somewhere in Crawford County, you are encouraged to write up a small bio and contact the BACC for consideration for future cemetery walks by emailing [email protected]. They do not have to be a Veteran to be portrayed for future walks.

“There were cemetery walks from 2012 until 2016. When the Bicentennial commission approached and asked me to resurrect the walks, I jumped on board with the speed and ferocity of a hungry tiger,” said Chamber director, Jessie Furner. “I had a great love for Oakwood Cemetery and Bucyrus history well before coming onboard at the Chamber. That coupled with my deep respect for Veterans and military families make this project ever so close to my heart.”
